More Sustainability Awards for BCS

BCS has been working with the State Government Sustainability Advantage Program for three years, and in many areas the organisation is demonstrating commitment to the environment and to operating care services in a sustainable and responsible way.

In 2011, BCS was recognised as a Silver Partner by Minister for the Environment, The Hon Robyn Parker, for demonstrating significant environmental achievements, including the design of BCS’ newest aged care development in Kellyville.

Since then, the Sustainability Advantage program has provided workshops in regional areas, bringing industry sectors together to form clusters. BCS has been part of the Hunter cluster for Aged Care since 2009 and has been achieving great results in energy and waste efficiency.

Last year BCS Kularoo, BCS Kara and BCS Warabrook Centres were recognised by the Minister for the work they have done as part of the program. At two separate breakfasts, BCS employees Peter Wells and Christine Russell accepted certificates on behalf of their facilities.

BCS Catering Solutions has also been working with the Office of Environment & Heritage to reduce their energy consumption and waste. René Marte, BCS Catering Solutions Manager accepted a certificate in recognition of their achievements from the Lord Mayor of Parramatta City Council and local member, Dr Geoff Lee MP at a recognition breakfast in December.
